The Philippines Classified Ads or Free Ads Marketplace has become more dynamic through the years, and has seen entry of international investors aiming to get a piece of the pie with the Filipinos’ increasing demand of different products and services in varying states use. Here we list down the top websites, some of which have been in the scene for almost two decades.

Carousell.ph

The local arm of the Singaporean classifieds marketplace, Carousell.ph as of August 2020 is ranked #64 in Alexa website popularity rankings in the Philippines. It has 3.51 million monthly visitors as of July 2020 from SimilarWeb estimates.

Android and iOS users can use the website through their available apps.

Carousell.ph acquired OLX Philippines, after the parent company secured an investment from Naspers which also owns the OLX group. The local classified ads site is known for its dynamic promotions featuring influencers along with “sale” events that emulate those from e-Commerce websites such as Shopee and Lazada.

Raffy Montemayor is currently at the helm of Carousell Philippines, having served as COO and General manager of OLX Philippines since 2016.

Locanto.ph

Locanto Philippines is another localized website of a German startup, with international reach in 6 continents. The Philippine website is ranked #4,169 in Alexa website popularity rankings for the country and SimilarWeb has estimated the site to have 320,000 monthly visitors.

The site is not entirely new to the classified ads scene in the country, having gone live in 2008, and competed with Carousell.ph progenitor Sulit.com.ph

Although it has less monthly visits as compared to Carousell.ph, its categories span a broader set that includes personals and dating.

Locanto Philippines’ parent company, Yalwa is a German startup with Klaus Gapp as the founder. As of August 2020 Locanto Philippines has no physical office in the Philippines.

Buy & Sell Philippines

Buy & Sell Philippines has made a name in print classified advertising in the 1990s and has also a presence online. Although Sulit.com.ph and other sites have overtaken it, it still is a player in the online classified ads marketplace offering a no-frills website and an Android app.

The website went live in 2001 and has since been online, serving 85,000 visitors every month from SimilarWeb estimates. Similar to traditional classified ads websites, it has a broad variety of categories from automotives to its unique “Swapping Corner.” It has an Alexa website popularity ranking of #11,541 for the Philippines.

Sulit.ph

Sulit.ph, while entirely different from RJ David’s Sulit.com.ph, is another fixture in the classifieds marketplace online. It started as ClassifiedAds.ph and has made steady inroads in terms of gaining visitors since it went online in 2008. With 91,000 monthly visitors the website is #655,410 in Alexa Popularity Rankings.

Anton Sheker oversees the operations of Sulit.ph is as managing director. Anton is also a Photographer and and a SEO consultant.

Chitku.ph

Chitku is a classified ads site that went online in 2014. It features listings of used and new items, services and business listings. The website is #1,293,580 in global Alexa website popularity rankings.

A sister site, Chitku.ae covers classifieds listings in United Arab Emirates.

MyBenta

The “david” among the classified ads website, MyBenta almost went head to head with OLX.ph in 2014. This mostly due to the fact that it was able to attract users from the former Sulit.com.ph website. It is #2,899 in Alexa Website Popularity rankings for the Philippines and enjoys 228,000 monthly visitors.

Its “forever free” slogan, that was aimed to take a jab into the paid classifieds route that OLX.ph took, is the main draw of MyBenta.

MyBenta also has an android app where users can seamlessly post products to the site.

Emmanuel Rey Mariano, an entrepreneur and Android developer owns and operates MyBenta.

JuanTambayan

The website went live in 2013 and has since gained a loyal base of users. It took after Sulit.com.ph’s style of fostering community among users with a JuanTambayan community forum.

Alexa Website Popularity ranks JuanTambayan in #299,041 and has 37,000 monthly visitors.

The website also has an Android app, which is a direct version of its full counterpart.
